A Step Forward for Al Kharj Families: QRIS Meets Indian Ambassador to Discuss CBSE Education

QRIS meets Indian Ambassador Shri Vipul to discuss CBSE textbook approval challenges and educational opportunities for children in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia.

In a Nutshell

Quantum Rise International School, led by Principal Padmini Nair, met with H.E. Shri Vipul, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, on October 19, 2026, to discuss challenges affecting CBSE education in Al Kharj. The school presented a formal memorandum seeking guidance, regulatory dialogue, and support for its CBSE application. The Ambassador acknowledged that textbook-related challenges affect schools across the Kingdom and expressed his willingness to help. The meeting marks a constructive step in QRIS's ongoing efforts to expand educational opportunities for local families.

Inside This Post

Every child deserves access to quality education without having to travel far from home. For Indian families living in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, this aspiration is closely connected to the availability of familiar educational pathways and long-term academic continuity.

Taking an important step towards addressing these concerns, a delegation from Quantum Rise International School (QRIS), led by Principal Padmini Nair, met with H.E. Shri Vipul, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on October 19, 2026.

The meeting, graciously granted by the Ambassador following a request from the school, provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges surrounding CBSE curriculum approval and seek guidance on possible solutions for families in Al Kharj.

Bringing Parents’ Educational Concerns to the Ambassador

During the meeting, QRIS formally presented a memorandum titled “Securing CBSE Educational Opportunities for Children in Al Kharj.”

The memorandum outlined the school’s journey, the regulatory challenges affecting its proposed CBSE pathway, and the concerns of parents seeking educational stability for their children.

Established in September 2025, QRIS was founded with a vision to bring quality international education closer to families in Al Kharj.

From the beginning, the school envisioned offering both CBSE and IGCSE curricula. While QRIS successfully obtained its IGCSE licence, its application for the CBSE pathway encountered textbook-approval concerns, despite the school’s proposal to use NCERT textbooks.

The issue carries particular significance for families who wish to maintain the option of a CBSE education as their children progress into higher grades.

A Constructive Conversation and an Encouraging Response

During the interaction, Ambassador Shri Vipul acknowledged that textbook-related regulatory challenges affect schools across the Kingdom, rather than QRIS alone.

He expressed his willingness to make his best efforts to help address the issue, offering an encouraging response to the school’s representation.

Although no immediate resolution or regulatory approval was announced, the discussion marked a constructive step towards exploring possible solutions through appropriate channels.

For the QRIS delegation, the opportunity to present these concerns directly and receive a considerate response was a positive development.

Why CBSE Access Matters to Families in Al Kharj

For many Indian expatriate families, the availability of a CBSE pathway is an important consideration when planning their children’s education.

As students approach Grade 8 and higher classes, curriculum transitions can become more complicated. Without a local CBSE option, some families may need to consider lengthy daily journeys to Riyadh or alternative schooling arrangements.

Recognising these challenges, QRIS requested the Ambassador’s guidance and support in three key areas:

  • Guidance: Understanding the appropriate procedures for securing the necessary CBSE licence.
  • Facilitation: Encouraging constructive dialogue with relevant Saudi educational authorities.
  • Representation: Exploring reconsideration of the school’s application and permissible transitional arrangements under applicable regulations.

The school’s request emphasised its commitment to meeting regulatory requirements while protecting students’ educational continuity.

Our Commitment to Children and Parents Continues

At Quantum Rise International School, we understand that choosing a school is about more than selecting a curriculum. It is about trust, stability, and confidence in a child’s educational future.

While QRIS continues to operate under its approved IGCSE framework, the school remains committed to pursuing appropriate avenues for establishing a CBSE pathway in Al Kharj.

The meeting with the Indian Ambassador represents an encouraging step in that journey, not a final resolution. Any future CBSE offering remains subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

QRIS extends its sincere gratitude to H.E. Shri Vipul for granting the meeting, listening to the school’s concerns, and expressing his willingness to assist.

For our school community, the message remains clear: every child in Al Kharj deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a promising future closer to home.
